Abena Yalley spoke at the first Convening on Obstetric Violence in Africa hold on the 16th and 17th October 2024 in Banjul, Gambia. Thereby she presented her paper Abuse and Humiliation in the delivery room: Prevalence and Associated factors of Obstetric Violence in Ghana. From the 7th till the 15th October 2024 the workshop "The Politics of Reproduction Across Cultures: Obstetric Violence, Mental Health and Narrative Exposure Therapy in Africa, Europe and Latin America" brought together researchers from gender studies, sociology, psychology and midwifery backgrounds to explore obstetric violence in the four countries Ghana, Argentina, Brazil and Germany.
